SPROUT of the month: Meet Rhett & Emery
Each month we will be turning the spotlight on one of our amazing SPROUTS. HCC’s Serving SPROUTS (Small People Reaching Out Unselfishly To Serve) kids-feeding-kids program aims to come alongside parents and grandparents, planting seeds of service in the hearts of kiddos. Each SPROUTS family earns $28 a month to feed hungry kids in their community. In addition, SPROUTS hosts several hands-on serving opportunities throughout the year for the entire family to participate in.
This month we’d like to highlight siblings Rhett and Emery Martin! Rhett and Emery have volunteered in our center during our Christmas toy distribution, sold their amazing bath salts at our November market and continually spread the message of HCC to those around them!
Rhett is a 7-year-old first grader at Great Hearts Academy and his sister, Emery, is 5-years-old and enjoys being homeschooled by her mom. When they aren’t busy learning, Rhett enjoys flag football, baseball, golf, playing with LEGOS, building and creating anything, camping and shooting his bow and arrow with his dad. Emery loves singing and dancing, gymnastics, reading books, coloring and painting, hanging out with mommy and playing with her brother and friends.
Their favorite part about being a SPROUT is raising money to feed ONE hungry family each month. Mom, Erin, had this to say about SPROUTS, “We are so grateful to have been introduced to HCC and the SPROUTS program because it exposes our kids at a young age to the idea of putting others above themselves by donating our time and resources to help others who are less fortunate. I love how HCC encourages us to pray with families and share Jesus with them when opportunities arise. Our biggest prayer for our kids is that they would love Jesus above all and secondly love others above themselves. SPROUTS is a wonderful organization to help encourage that love.”
Congrats, Rhett and Emery and thank you for being dedicated SPROUTS!!
