Team MSC partnered for the first time with DuPage PADS for their 13th Annual 5k and 10k races held in Wheaton, Illinois last September 16th. Team MSC usually races on the streets of Lake Shore Drive each fall, however, the team decided to try a new location and partner. The results were fantastic! Team MSC had over 50 people host their own ‘Fund Me’ pages and raise funding for all MSC projects. Those 50 teams raised a total of $83,700.00! To add to the day’s success another 30 participants came out to race with us and an additional 70 student volunteers joined us from Harvest Christian Academy. A big thank you goes out to Dave Lockwood who locked hands with Team MSC once again organizing all student-volunteers, as well as, many of the individual racers.
DuPage PADS, whose mission is to end homelessness in and around the Chicagoland, awarded Team MSC the recognition of largest team participant for the event. The 200 plus people associated with Team MSC who came out brought a ton of energy and fun to the morning.
All of us at MSC would like to thank every fundraiser who raised funds so MSC can continue to serve, love and feed those in need. We also want to thank DuPage PADS for welcoming us with open arms and allowing us to be a part of their first-class operation! Lastly, all volunteers and friends who served on this campaign and/or the day of the event, thank you! Something very cool happens when a few hundred people take the focus off of themselves for the day and pour their energy into showing compassion for others!
