This past quarter Lori Schweighardt, HCC’s Serving SPROUTS Coordinator, led our SPROUTS families in their fall serving event in partnership with Packages From Home. Due to the current pandemic SPROUTS are not able to hold in-person events. However, each SPROUT family can serve safely from home! Packages From Home challenged our SPROUTS to decorate over 100 boxes with encouraging pictures, quotes and words that will bring smiles to active duty service men and women serving overseas. Packages From Home take the decorated boxes and fill them with goodies and mail them off just in time for the holidays.
Great news, our SPROUT families hit our goal! Meghan Richards, US Army Combat Veteran and Developing Director of Packages From Home said, “We can’t thank you enough for the decorated boxes! They’re all so beautiful and uplifting. Care packages with art help brighten the lives of military members from the moment they see them!”
Lori also added, “This was my first service project with Serving SPROUTS and I am blown away by the kids’ desire to serve, help, and encourage others. Even when we can’t get together in person, so many families and kids still are so excited to serve! Way to go, SPROUTS!”
Thank you to all the kids and families who helped bring some holiday joy to those who sacrifice so much for us!
