Last month, the Harvest Compassion Center Phoenix held our quarterly service outreach event, a night filled with pizza, hygiene packs and awards to recognize our amazing Serving SPROUTS accomplishments feeding hungry kids in the Valley! In total for 2017, which is far from over, our Serving SPROUTS have fed over 285! These are kids ranging from 4 years old to 15 years old earning $28.00 a month to feed other hungry kids. Our top Serving SPROUT award was handed out to Zachary Cejka who has fed 21 families this year, and was inducted into his school’s National Honor Society largely based on all his SPROUT effort and accomplishments! Serving SPROUTS are running their own online businesses using mom and dad’s Facebook accounts, they are completing extra chores and reaching out to neighbors asking for side jobs, all to feed hungry kids in the Valley.
This night wasn’t all about awards and pizza, our Serving SPROUTS packed over 600 hygiene packs and will deliver them to the homeless living downtown Phoenix on November 4th. It’s important for us to show our SPROUTS different outreach work being down in and around the Valley; in hopes that this exposure will plants seeds of true servanthood for years to come.
We are constantly recruiting more Serving SPROUT families, for any information please reach out to Nicolee Thompson at nthompson@hccfeed1.org and SAVE-THE-DATE our next Serving SPROUTS Expo on Friday, December 1st at 5:30-7:30pm, come shop from our SPROUTS for Christmas gifts while helping them feed a family!
