October Monthly Motivation

This past month, Tony, one of HCC’s regular homeless clients, found enough courage to take the necessary steps to finally get off the streets. Tony, who has lived on the streets for a few years, is disabled and suffers daily from multiple work-related injuries that, over time, forced him out of the workplace. He was recently able to get on disability and connected with assisted housing which allowed him to afford a one-bedroom apartment in southern Arizona. We were touched as Tony made the extra effort to stop by HCC and say goodbye and thank you to staff and volunteers before leaving the Valley. “Every time I came in you all encouraged me to keep going, which is what I needed to hear, especially when I was just ready to give up,” said Tony. Before he left HCC for the last time, he turned his wheelchair around and said, “I do love you all!”
