Meet Aparna and Adrija, two local high schoolers who attend Basis Peoria and work with The Chetana Foundation to serve their local community. Aparna and Adrija were looking for a local organization to serve this summer and Google led them to HCC. The girls wanted to help local kids in some capacity and HCC’s Back-2-School outreach was just what they were searching for. Making and selling homemade brownies and muffins, Aparna and Adrija raised over $4,000 to purchase 562 backpacks and supplies to fill each one! This pair of friends is HCC’s largest Back-2-School donor, proving once again your age doesn’t matter. All it takes is a little effort (and a LOT of chocolate!) to make a huge impact.
