Losing Their Home, but Not Hope!
This month, we are sharing the experience of three recent clients who have something in common: they are unhoused and living in their vehicles. We met Liz and her sweet pup, Ranger, at HCC Maryvale. She told our staff that she came on hard times and is currently living in her car. That same day Jim and Nancy, new to HCC, came to shop for groceries. They connected with a longtime volunteer and told her that, along with their medical issues, they, too, were living in their van.
Liz, Jim, and Nancy are not alone in their housing situations. We meet many people who visit HCC and have a similar story. Whether it’s due to loss of a job, a death, or a roommate moving out, folks are finding themselves without a stable roof over their heads. We are honored to hear their stories and provide them trusted resources for housing, jobs, and other services. Your support of HCC helps those who are truly struggling to face each day fed and clothed.
