Last month HCC West Phoenix officially opened serving the West Phoenix community located near 27th Avenue and Camelback, just steps away from the campus of Grand Canyon University. Our new Director of Operations, Ricky Borges, is leading the charge at this location. Ricky and his family just moved to the Valley from Chicago, Illinois. As his family gets settled in Goodyear Ricky looks forward to making an impact in the local community. “We should lead as Jesus led and that’s with a heart meant to serve others. I love coming to work every day with an attitude of humility as our team continues to meet the needs of our local neighbors. As I walk and drive around the area to pass out flyers, I see so much need. I am thrilled to be telling them about HCC, a place where they will receive Hope!” said Ricky.
Since opening, HCC West Phoenix has served over 75 brand-new families and has, linked arms with new volunteers and local partners in West Phoenix. “Our first week open we served 37 clients! That was the fastest that word ever got out about one of our locations opening! It also shows the magnitude of need that COVID-19 has brought to the Valley. The clients we’ve met so far are very grateful for this new location!” commented Nicolee Thompson, HCC Executive Director.
Thank you to all HCC partners, volunteers and friends who have helped us spread the word about this new HCC location. If you haven’t had a chance to tour HCC West Phoenix or meet Ricky please drop in any Monday or Thursday morning. We’d love to show you around!
Volunteers are needed! Do you live close enough to come volunteer at our new center, located at 27th Avenue and Camelback Road? HCC West Phoenix will be open every Monday and Thursday morning, 9 to 11:30am. Click HERE to sign up today!
