HCC Volunteer Spotlight: Dorothy Ardelean
HCC would like to shine our spotlight on Rockstar volunteer Dorothy Ardelean! Dorothy and her husband began volunteering at HCC Phoenix five years ago, then as their family grew they took a break, however once HCC Maryvale opened closer to their home Dorothy and her kids jumped into action. Dorothy and her kids serve every Tuesday at HCC Maryvale processing and sorting home and clothing donations.
“Volunteering at HCC Maryvale has been an amazing opportunity to help our local community and be the hands and feet of Jesus. It has been teaching us to be selfless and love those in need,” Dorothy commented.
Dorothy loves being able to see families coming into the center and know that in some way she and her family are making an impact in their lives.
“Dorothy is one of the hardest working, reliable, and heartfelt volunteers we have. Plus, she is extremely compassionate about HCC’s mission and it shows through her willingness to serve others before herself,” said Paul Thompson, HCC Maryvale Director.
“I am so grateful to be able to serve the community with my children. Although they are young, it is such a great opportunity for my kids to see what is done at the HCC – now they look forward to going to the HCC every week!” said Dorothy.
All of us at HCC would like to thank Dorothy for being an amazing example to her children and the community for the sacrificial effort she displays weekly. HCC Maryvale is extremely blessed to call Dorothy and her family friends.
