COVID-19 Pandemic Does NOT Stall HCC Outreach
We all now know what ‘social distancing’ means, we’ve been retaught how to properly wash our hands and life as we knew it now looks very different. Over the past 20 days you’ve received several HCC special updates on our response to COVID-19 as this pandemic has not stalled our commitment to feed and serve those in need.
All HCC operations do look very different as the centers remain open and providing food, hygiene and baby products to our local neighbors. All locations are following the CDC recommendations to keep our staff and volunteers safe. We are so thankful for the many who have reached out, donated and volunteered during this time of need.
Just in the past couple of weeks we have seen an over 50% spike in HCC clients and, of that group, 25% are new clients who are visiting HCC due to a pandemic job loss. The worst is still to come, but our commitment remains intact for our community. HCC is one of the few food banks that has not and will not shut its doors and will continue to serve our local neighbors until our shelves are bare.
Here's how you can help TODAY!
- Critical funding is needed to keep up with the demand of additional product. Make your best gift on April 7 during Arizona’s annual day of giving. If you make your gift at 7am HCC has a chance to win additional prize grant funding!
***YOUR BEST GIFT WILL BE MATCHED up to $20,0000! Any size gift will ensure HCC doors are open and product is bountiful! - We still do need volunteers. We are only scheduling 2-3 a shift, but you can complete a volunteer application under our ‘Get Involved‘ tab on our website.
- Donate medical grade disposal gloves and masks for our HCC staff and volunteers.
- Pray. Continue to pray for our communities as together we all navigate this pandemic.
Thank you for your support, please stay safe and healthy.
