Thank you to all sponsors, volunteers and bowling teams who came out for our first ever Striking Out Hunger event last month at Let It Roll Bowl & Entertainment. For a first-year event Harvest Compassion Center was thrilled with the turn out as we hosted 32 bowling teams which equaled to over 200 bowlers! Adults, seniors and kids alike had a blast competing for top honors on March 3rd. “It was so much fun seeing young kids getting into the action, wearing their Harvest Compassion Center shirts and having a fun family night out all for a great cause,” replied Dawn McDermott from bowling team “Livin’ on a Spare.” Our most mature team was the ‘Dream Team,’ who’s average age is in the mid 80’s, proving that you’re never too old to get involved in a worthy cause and have fun while doing it! We are pleased to announce that $39,000.00 was raised in funds through each team’s fundraising efforts! We’d also like to thank our sponsors Phoenix Metro Chamber Foundation, Sonoran Farms as well as, Glenn Mire with Mire Imaging for his photography during the evening and Eden Fine with Fotobot Photo Booth Co. for his fun photobooth experience.
Since this event was such as success we look forward to hosting it again next Spring, so stay tuned! Again, amazing job to our bowlers and we can’t thank you enough for your efforts in making sure Harvest Compassion Center Phoenix and Maryvale are fully stocked as we feed, clothe and love our neighbors!
