Seeing More Families this Summer!

As summer continues, many families are feeling the strain of keeping enough food on the table while children are home from school and no longer receiving school meals.

Recently, a mother visiting our Maryvale location was one of the last clients served that day. With plenty of fresh food still available at the end of the day, our team encouraged her to take whatever she needed. Overcome with emotion, she shared that her refrigerator at home was completely empty. Volunteers quickly filled her cart with fresh fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious foods, and her daughters were thrilled to see some of their favorite fresh produce heading home with them.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, families like hers can leave HCC with full hearts, a full bag, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
