Last month Team MSC/HCC successfully took to the streets of Wheaton joining forces with the DuPage PADS 10k/5k/1k Race to raise funding for all MSC projects. Team MSC had over 40 participants walk and/or run one of the three race distances offered. The morning started off a little bumpy with light rain and wind, however a beautiful rainbow appeared just in time for the national anthem to be sung and the start gun to go off! Team MSC had many TOP finishers starting with Kayla White winning her 14 and younger age group for the 5k and Alijah Thompson finishing a strong third in the same category. Other podium top three winners in their age groups were Kevin Sampson, Craig Lochridge, Bob Young and Steven Bland. Team member Phil Devol finished 1st in his age group of 70-74 years running the 10k in 56 minutes! Another top finisher was Chuck Sampson, who was the only 92 ½ year-old on the 1k course that morning, proving you’re never too old to get involved and make a difference!
Team MSC shared this event with family, friends and co-workers to raise support for all MSC/HCC projects. We’re thrilled to announce that over $75,000 was raised! All of us at MSC/HCC want to thank each participant this year who came out to support our mission and raise funds. We’d also like to thank our race partner DuPage PADS for welcoming Team MSC with open arms and Harvest Christian Academy who brought over 75 volunteers for the event. It’s amazing what can be accomplished with a total team effort!
