Meet Three SUPER Serving S.P.R.O.U.T.S!

The HCC’s Serving S.P.R.O.U.T.S is our family outreach program helping to educate and motivate our younger generation in the importance of working hard, serving and giving.  The HCC would like to highlight three amazing young ladies this month who have embraced our Serving S.P.R.O.U.T.S program and together have fed over 25 families!

Ten-year-old, Cari Legere, has become the princess of marshmallow pops!  Cari first started making her ‘mallow pops’ because it was really delicious and something she could make on her own.  With the assistance of her mom, she has learned how to organize all her orders, purchase product in the most cost effective ways ensuring more profit, and experimented with her creativity in the pop making process!  “I like the entire process of making my pops, but knowing that the profit of my product can be put to good use, like feeding a family, fills my heart with joy!” replied Cari.  Cari sells her themed pops for $3.00 a dozen, some nights staying up late to fulfill her orders, however she knows it’s important because she is being a useful tool in God’s big plan.  Amazing job Cari, keep it up!

Reagan Arsenault, an 8-year-old third grader, is another Serving S.P.R.O.U.T that has been knocking it out of the ball park with her pot-holder making skills!  Reagan loves her pot holders because they are fun and easy to make and she gets to be creative in personally designing each one.  “I feel good whenever I hear that people are getting food that don’t have any because of me selling my pot holders,” commented Reagan.  Reagan’s advice to others kids looking to get involved in their community is to find a project that you normally do, that you can have fun with and try selling that item on the internet.  Through the creation of Reagan’s own pot holder business, she’s also learned how to make daily goals and plan her schedule allowing enough time to fulfill all customer orders.  Reagan, you are truly inspiring so many, job well done!

Finally meet, Kaylee Henthorn, a 10-year-old fifth grader, who is ready to open her own bakery!  Kaylee has fed the most families out of any of our Serving S.P.O.U.T.S by making baked goods and body scrubs.  Her famous chocolate chunk cookies have been her hottest selling product, with Kaylee selling so many cookies that she often feeds two or three families in one month!  Kaylee is a baker at heart, she loves spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes and designing new menus every month.  “I love to bake, people love my cookies and families get fed, everyone is happy,” answer Kaylee when asked why it is important to bake for others.  Even though her baking takes some playing time away from Kaylee, she believes it’s worth every batch she creates!  Kaylee the HCC is so proud of you and your hard work!
