We recently met Maggie, a mom of three, who had just fled from an abusive relationship. She had never needed the services of a food bank before but, with her financial situation changing, she found herself Googling local food banks. The day she came in she connected with one of our sweet volunteers who, after hearing Maggie’s story, shared that years ago she, too, had experienced something very similar. She encouraged Maggie that things would get better, and that HCC would be here to help as she rebuilt her life. These two women shared something that most of us could never relate to, but they were brought together for a reason. We look forward to seeing Maggie thrive as she gets herself back on her feet.
