Impact Story: Christmas Wish List For 2 New Bikes!

December was an incredible month in our centers as we gifted thousands of toys to local families. One story of Christmas magic stood out, and we couldn’t wait to share it with you. Meet Brittany, a mom of two who came to HCC for groceries, hoping to also receive a few toys for her kids. While checking in, Brittany mentioned her children both wished for bikes this Christmas, but she couldn’t afford them this year. We assured her our toy team would do everything possible to find meaningful gifts.

As Brittany finished shopping and waited for her children’s gifts, she received a surprise she never imagined. That very morning, two bikes had been donated by a generous donor, and we knew they were destined for Brittany’s kids. Overcome with gratitude and joy, Brittany sobbed and dropped to her knees, thanking our team repeatedly. Her children would now each have a bike this Christmas. Moments like this—seeing Brittany’s joy and the gratitude of the families we served—are indescribable. We’re deeply thankful to our donors for helping us provide toys, food, and clothing to families in need this holiday season.
