It truly takes a village to love and care for those in our community. HCC leaders were blown away last month when one school social worker stepped up to the plate to make sure her kids had the food they needed. A school family was completely out of food and had no transportation to get to HCC to shop so this social worker helped by borrowing a school vehicle. Imagine our surprise when we saw a full-size yellow school bus drive up to our front door with the social worker behind the wheel! We are so encouraged by other dedicated, extremely hard-working partners who continue to show up big time for families in need. The family of eight she drove in the bus have been living in a hotel for a year and are simply doing what they can to survive. What a blessing to be able to love this family with our services!
